Damian Lillard, best PG in class of 2012

Since rookie PG Damian Lillard came in the league out of Weber State Univerisity, he has been an electrifying rookie for the Portland Trailblazers. Lillard has helped the Trailblazers to a 33-44 record, improving by 5 wins from last year's record of 28-38. Damian Lillard is averaging 18.8 points per game and averages 6.5 assists per game. Also, he is shooting 42% from the field and 36% from the 3 point line. In this season, Lillard broke the rookie 3 point shooting record with 169; last to break was Golden State Warriors' point guard Stephen Curry in the 2009-2010 season. For the Blazers to be a playoff contender in the Western Conference, they need to build up the team with some new players especially with the upcoming 2013 NBA Draft in June. On SportsBeat.com, they had NBA comparisons to Damian Lillard and the best-case scenario is Derrick Rose. "The two players thrive off their athleticism. Lillard has a better jump shot at this point in his career, but he has compared athletically to Rose since his name began surfacing as a top pick in the 2012 draft" (Knox, 2012) Actually, Damian Lillard is like Derrick Rose, Lillard can shoot, set his teammates for assists, and can make big shots for his team to win the game. Maybe in 2016, Lillard will become MVP like Derrick Rose did in his 3rd season in the 2010-2011 season.
